Frederick A. Valeriote, Ph.D.

Frederick A. Valeriote, Ph.D., is a Founding Member of Orion Therapeutics, LLC and has served as a Board Member and Chief Scientific Officer since 2004. Dr. Valeriote received a B.S. degree majoring in Physics, an M.Sc. degree in Physiology, and a Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto. He was a Canadian Cancer Society Post Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto and later a Medical Research Council of Canada Fellow in Molecular Biophysics at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Valeriote began his academic career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis as Director of Research in Radiation Oncology. During his 14 years at Washington University he rose to Full Professor level and Deputy Director of the Division of Radiation Oncology. His research activities focused on modifiers of radiation tumor response including combination chemotherapy-radiation therapy studies.

Dr. Valeriote joined the faculty of Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit as Professor in Internal Medicine and Director of Research in Medical Oncology; and, as Department Chair for Experimental Therapeutics at The Michigan Cancer Foundation. During his 17 years at Wayne State University, he was also Deputy Director, Detroit Medical Center Clinical Cancer Institute; Deputy Director, Meyer L. Prentis Comprehensive Cancer Center of Metropolitan Detroit; and, Scientific Director, Michigan Cancer Foundation, Detroit. Dr. Valeriote taught the undergraduate course in Cancer Biology and the graduate courses in Radiation Biology and Cancer Chemotherapy. While involved in the development of many basic and translational research projects, he was known internationally for his program in discovery and development of new anticancer drugs.

Dr. Valeriote is presently a Professor and leads a cancer research program at a leading Midwest academic hospital.

Dr. Valeriote is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research and The American Society of Pharmacognosy. He has held a number of editorial board positions and currently is a member of the editorial boards of Investigational New Drugs, Cancer Chemotherapy and Pharmacology and Journal of Experimental Therapeutics and Oncology. He is a published author of over 200 peer-reviewed publications, most notable recently in the field of discovery and development of anticancer drugs from natural products: plants, sponges and marine organisms.

Dr. Valeriote also has held many professional advisory and consultant positions during the past 40 years including President of the Cell Kinetics Society, Chairman of the Developmental Therapeutics Committee for the Southeast Oncology Group, the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, the Southwest Oncology Group, the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan, the American Cancer Society of Michigan and the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center and the U.S. Army Breast Cancer Research Committee. He has served on the scientific advisory boards of a variety of companies including Unigen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Unitech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Geneblue, Inc.

Dr. Valeriote’s role at Orion Therapeutics, LLC. is to direct the research and development being conducted on the Company’s products and help educate clinicians and consumers about the products’ benefits.

Gordon Moore

Gordon Moore is our General Manager and has worked with Orion Therapeutics since 2004 ensuring that the sourcing and production of each batch of Cantavita tablets is compliant with cGMP standards.

He is a seasoned executive who served 14 years as President/CEO of Accucaps Industries Limited, a leading contract manufacturer of pharmaceutical capsules, over-the-counter drugs, health food supplements, cosmetics and paintballs directing it to a prominent position in the industry. Accucaps became one of only three soft gelatin capsule manufacturers to receive FDA certification to produce prescription pharmaceuticals in the world.

He led that organization to being recognized as one of the 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada for six consecutive years.

Gord has consulted with many organizations in strategic planning & budgeting, re-organization, loss turn-around, cost efficiencies, market development and executive coaching. He has experience with private equity investment, due diligence, and has extensive experience as a Chief Financial Officer for both private and public manufacturing companies.

His community volunteer service includes involvement with: the Hospice of Windsor/Essex County; Chamber of Commerce; St. Clair College Foundation; the Athena Foundation; Leamington Area Family Health Team Board and is a Rotarian with Rotary Club of Windsor Roseland.
